Bailong Elevator Is The World’s Tallest Outdoor Glass Elevator

According to Guinness World Records, the Bailong Elvator located in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, China , is the world’s tallest outdoor elevator.Is. This national park is world famous for its amazing sandstone columns rising from the forest floor. The height of the Baylang elevator (which means Sadazhed elevator) is 326 meters in total.154 meters of the total height of the elevator can be seen in the mountain walls, and 172 meters of it is the steel facade and other components. 

The three elevators, which run parallel to each other, are completely glass, allowing visitors to enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the area’s breathtaking beauty.

The construction of this unique elevator began in 1999, and after an investment of about twenty million dollars, the Bailang elevator was reopened to the public in 2002.

After its speed was upgraded in 2015, the lifts now reach the top in just one minute and 32 secons. The carrying capacity of each elevator is 4900 kg, and fifty passengers can be moved in each cabin.

All this means that Bailang Elevator is not only the world’s fastest passenger elevator with the largest passenger capacity.

Visitors can now take the park as a day trip, lining up for a one and a half minute ride on this amazing elevator. Since tourists no longer need to stay overnight in the area, many hotels and guesthouses in the park have been closed to help protrct the environment.
